Swine flu is referred to as H1N1 influence virus of A type. This is the recent strain of flu which has affected people. It is a false notion that the virus is caused from eating pork. This is an influenza virus which attacks people and people are responsible for spreading this virus. This virus is a combined effect of bird flu, human flu and swine flu. This new strain is highly infectious and is spreading all over the world. It has almost become like an epidemic and people are really scared.
The H1N1 is not similar to the other influenza strains. Humans have not been exposed to this form of influenza and hence there is no specific medicine for this. This is the reason for its seriousness. At present, there are no preventative drugs which can be taken so as to prevent it. Hence, elderly people, even very young people and people who have a weak immune system should be cautious so that they do not attract the flu. Cases of Swine flue viruses are starting to get visible in the US. It originated in Mexico and later the virus has spread globally. Some worst hit cases in Mexico have gone undetected and untreated. It has been specifically renamed as H1N1 influenza so that people do not think it has got something to do with pigs. The outbreak of the swine flue is becoming a matter of concern since there is no remedy to this.
The symptoms of swine flu are very much similar to a normal seasonal flu. The common symptoms are high fever in the beginning, severe tiredness and muscle aches. Some other symptoms like cold, cough and sore throat also are present. Some people experience nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. When the symptoms become very severe, the doctors would consider a diagnosis for swine flu.

Individuals who take immediate treatment without waiting too long would surely make a quick recovery. A swab sample of the nose and throat is taken by the doctor and forwarded to the laboratory for clinical testing. The results would not take more than 2 to 3 days. The only treatment for the swine flu is a drug called Tamiflu. The physician would prescribe Tamiflu if needed. Some people get over the Swine flu within some days. If you have attracted Swine flu, you would get immunity and would not get it again in the future.
